Ashmere Art

Michaela-portrait.jpgMeet Michaela, our resident artist across our Ashmere homes. Michaela works on projects around the homes to brighten areas up, add some interest or design new spaces for residents to enjoy.

Michaela has scribbled and dabbled with all kinds of creative skills for many years. She is very talented with a paint brush, with her true passion being watercolour landscapes. She has had many commissioned from all around the world!

Michaela comes from a caring background. Having worked as a carer at our Codnor Park Care Home, she appreciates the benefits of improving the surroundings for the residents and the added benefits in allowing residents to help with the decision making. So Michaela's job is two-fold, she assesses the space and mocks up some potential designs, she then consults with the residents over which design they prefer. Then while the murals are being painted residents can pick colours and enjoy watching as the design unfolds.

swan-bathroom.jpgMichaela's first project came about by accident. While still a carer, Michaela decorated the residents daily menu board with a cottage garden and a wishing well. The residents enjoyed it so much and all the staff loved the picture! It wasn't long before the manager at Codnor Park had Michaela working on four murals in the dining room. From there the word spread and all the Ashmere homes were soon requesting her services.

Michaela has now completed many project in our homes around Ashmere. If you would like to read more and see pictures of her amazing artwork then click here.
