The Derwent Wing: Now Open
The Valley Lodge Derwent Wing is now the latest addition to the Ashmere care home family. Purpose designed and built specifically for residential, nursing and dementia care, the new facility offers the very latest in care home comfort to ensure warmth, charm, and quality care for all residents.
The new wing adds a further 34 en-suite rooms to Valley Lodge together with a lovely new day room and comfortable dining space. The hairdressing salon has also been relocated to upgraded facilities. In addition, the development contains a 12 bed Extra Care Unit providing around the clock care to those residents with special care requirements.
Outside, there is a large new patio area and a host of new planting, making an ideal facility for summer fetes, BBQs and other outdoor events that residents can share with family and friends. The remainder of the grounds has also been upgraded. Decorative walls and fencing have been added, lawns re-laid and trees and shrubs planted.
We are also investing in the original Valley Lodge facilities to bring them in line with the Derwent Wing. We are adding en-suites to a number of existing rooms, redecoration, recarpeting and replacing doors throughout the home. It all adds up to make Valley Lodge the most modern care home facility in the area for 2009.
