At The Firs, we aim to provide a friendly and caring atmosphere. Our staff will support residents in making decision on how they want to live their life. We recognise the importance of maintaining relationship with family and friends and we support recipients in pursuing hobbies and interests by offering a variety of activities.
Our Nursing Homes provide 24 hour personalised care along with a wide range of services and facilities tailored to your needs and includes support with specialist care from qualified nurses. As a resident you can be sure you will continue to have access to health, leisure and community services.
The premises was previously a farmhouse converted in 1984 to a Nursing Home. It shares a site with Codnor Park Residential Home, which is also part of Ashmere.It has 39 bedrooms, 36 single rooms with 23 which benefit from en-suite facilities. There are 3 double rooms, 2 with en-suite available.The home also has an extra care unit which provides a safe and secure environment for those residents suffering with all forms of dementia and Alzheimer's. The units are kept small with only twelve residents, allowing the very best care to be delivered by staff, all of whom have specialist training. We also keep the same staff in the unit to ensure our residents always see a familiar face.
