Valley Lodge - Derwent Wing Story
It’s now finally time to begin laying the block work and stone that will form the Derwent wing. Due to the differing levels on site the first thing to be build is effectively a large under croft which will act to level the site.
Next the large concrete beams are craned into position to form the ground floor of the building. These huge beams span the outer walls removing the need for any solid internal walls. Once this precise but relatively quick task has been done you really begin to get a feeling for the size of the new wing.
