Dementia Household Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dementia Household Lead at Ashmere Derbyshire Limited’s Brand new Heanor Park Care Home. The role is a full time role worked 5 out 7 days including some weekends. The role is intended to aid progression into a Care Home Deputy Manager role.

Heanor Park is a new 60 bedded home which provides Residential and Dementia Care as well as independent living suites. The home is situated overlooking Heanor Memorial Park, it is easily accessible from both Ripley and Codnor areas as well as the Erewash district.

Your main responsibilities as our Dementia Household Lead will be to work alongside the Dementia Service Manager to provide a person centred/relationship focused service for our residents living with Dementia and enable a supportive social environment which helps our residents feel part of what is going on around them & offer support to participate in a way which they are able.

You will be responsive and optimise residents health & well being by liaising with other interested parties such as CPN’s, rapid response teams to ensure continuity in the care provided. You will carry out dementia specific supervisions with all to enhance the quality of the service especially around effective communication & appropriate staff responses. You will ensure that each individual has a dementia and activity care plan that reflects their current needs and drive continuous quality improvement which is driven by knowing and acting on the needs of our resident living with dementia. You will also be responsible for managing a team of dementia support workers.

About You!

You should have a minimum of two years experience working in Dementia Care and show willingness and ability to go above and beyond. We are looking for someone who is able to communicate effectively and professionally with all staff and visitors to the home and show care and compassion towards our residents. You need to have the ability to see that residents behaviour as a form of communication and be able to demonstrate empathy. This is a new post that will require you to be flexible and embrace new challenges as the post develops.
