    The role of Home Manager

    As a Home Manager you will play an integral part in the delivery of high-quality care and supporting the overall operation of our home. As a proactive and inspirational Manager, you will be actively engaging with your residents and employees on a daily basis.

    You will be responsible for leading and motivating a team to ensure that the quality of care is consistently outstanding and of the highest quality as expected by the CQC.

    Duties include:

    • Management of the home
    • Develop, inspire and liaise with employees, residents and the wider community of health care professionals.
    • Promote and increase resident occupancy within the home.
    • Comply, implement, and improve policies and procedures to ensure CQC standards are maintained.

    About you

    We are looking for someone who has at least two years’ experience in a management position within the care industry with the ability to organise, motivate and lead a team.

    Your current knowledge of health and safety procedures and CQC standards will be highly regarded.

    An NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management is not essential however the suitable candidate should be actively working towards achieving this.

    Valley Lodge is a 61 bedded nursing home consisting of residential rooms, and a dementia household. Situated overlooking some of Matlock’s finest views, and a short trip away from Matlock Bath.

    As a Receptionist at Valley Lodge you will as and when required to cover busy periods, holiday and sickness. flexibility to work over all shifts is essential. Please do not apply if you are not flexible for all shifts.

    Working hours will be between 8am-6pm split into shifts, Monday to Sunday.

    You will be working alongside our receptionist at our Heanor Park Care Home so we ask that a driving license is essential.

    Heanor Park is a new 60 bedded home which provides Residential and Dementia Care as well as independent living suites. The home is situated overlooking Heanor Memorial Park, it is easily accessible from both Ripley and Codnor areas as well as the Erewash district.

    Your main responsibilities as our Dementia Household Lead will be to work alongside the Dementia Service Manager to provide a person centred/relationship focused service for our residents living with Dementia and enable a supportive social environment which helps our residents feel part of what is going on around them & offer support to participate in a way which they are able.

    You will be responsive and optimise residents health & well being by liaising with other interested parties such as CPN’s, rapid response teams to ensure continuity in the care provided. You will carry out dementia specific supervisions with all to enhance the quality of the service especially around effective communication & appropriate staff responses. You will ensure that each individual has a dementia and activity care plan that reflects their current needs and drive continuous quality improvement which is driven by knowing and acting on the needs of our resident living with dementia. You will also be responsible for managing a team of dementia support workers.

    About You!

    You should have a minimum of two years experience working in Dementia Care and show willingness and ability to go above and beyond. We are looking for someone who is able to communicate effectively and professionally with all staff and visitors to the home and show care and compassion towards our residents. You need to have the ability to see that residents behaviour as a form of communication and be able to demonstrate empathy.     Valley Lodge Care Home with Nursing requires a registered nurse to work alongside our committed team. Valley Lodge is part of the Ashmere Family of Homes and is situated in Matlock, Derbyshire. It is a 64 bedded home including a 12 bedded Dementia Household.

    About Valley Lodge

    Valley Lodge is a well-established dual registered residential and nursing home based in Matlock, hosting 63 beds with a ‘GOOD’ CQC rating. Valley Lodge is considered a Derbyshire County Council Quality Premium Home and holds a level 1 Derbyshire Dignity award.

    Currently we have permanent opportunities available in full or part time capacities. Preferences regarding shift times and duration will be considered.

    – A basic pay rate of £19.00 per hour with an enhanced rate of £20.00 per hour offered for night and weekend shifts

    Ashmere Derbyshire Limited is a family owned company of 8 homes spread across the Derbyshire area all of which are commutable by major bus routes.     The dementia support worker role relies on a passion to learn; a passion to enable people with dementia to live well; hold excellent communication skills and the ability to accept a person for who they are.

    You will be assisting residents with all aspects of their care including assisting with mealtimes and personal care. You will responsible for administrating medication and liaising with outside professionals.

    Your experience in dementia doesn’t necessary need to be paid experience, you might have cared for a family member of friend. Don’t worry about needing any formal qualification, we can support you with this should you be successful in gaining a role with us.
