Deputy Home Manager – Full Time

Valley Lodge Nursing Home is located in Darley Dale, close to Matlock and Chesterfield. The home is accessible by a local bus service and is located on Bakewell Road. The home accommodates a maximum of 63 residents; consisting of a 12 bedded dementia unit and the main part of the home having nursing, residential and dementia residents. We have activities throughout the week engaging residents and continually improving the quality of care we provide.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Ashmere Derbyshire Ltd as a Full Time Deputy Manager. You will be integral to the delivery of high quality care and support to our home. The role will involve development of strong working relationship with both, clients and their relatives as well as the wider community.

The Deputy Manager will work as a member of the management team and support the Home Manager. You will help to support the day to day management of the home and maintain and promote the highest standard of care.

You will be at the very heart of our industry, so you are expected to be reliable, dependable and committed to make a difference in our home.

  • They will have at least two years’ experience within a senior management/supervisory position within the Care industry with the ability to organise and delegate staff.
  • They will also demonstrate good written and oral communication skills, have the ability to deal with emergency situations, Boots MDS training, extensive knowledge of illnesses suffered by the elderly, understand health and safety precautions and have an eye for detail.

Rates of pay are dependent on qualifications and experience which will be discussed at interview. Benefits can include an OTE Bonus Scheme, and additional training encouraged. Appointment will be subject to two satisfactory references, medical clearance, an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check and a six month probationary period.
