At Ashmere Derbyshire Limited we are looking for people who are passionate about providing an outstanding level of care and going the extra mile for our residents and we are currently looking to recruit a Deputy Manager at our Valley Lodge Home. This is a full time role on a temporary basis for 3 – 6 months.

Ashmere Derbyshire Limited is a family owned company of 8 homes spread across the Derbyshire area all of which are commutable by major bus routes. We have achieved investors in people and are constantly striving to improve the care we provide to our residents and the experience that employees have with us.

Valley Lodge Nursing Home is located in Darley Dale, close to Matlock and Chesterfield. The home is accessible by a local bus service and is located on Bakewell Road. The home accommodates a maximum of 63 residents; consisting of a 12 bedded dementia household and the main part of the home having nursing, residential and dementia residents. The home recently achieved ‘Good’ in its CQC inspection.

The Deputy Manager will work as a member of the homes management team and support the Home Manager. This will involve supporting with the day to day management of the home and maintain the highest standard of care. Your week will be split working a mix of shifts where you are leading the team and management days.

You will be at the very heart of your industry, so we are looking for someone who is reliable, dependable and committed to making a difference in our home.

We are looking for someone who has at least two years experience in a senior management or supervisory position within the care industry with the ability to organise and delegate staff. You will also have good communication skills and the ability to deal with emergency situations. You should have an extensive knowledge of illnesses suffered by the elderly, have an understanding of health and safety precautions and have an eye for detail.

Rates of pay are dependent on qualifications and experience which will be discussed at interview. Benefits can include an OTE Bonus Scheme, Private Healthcare (following a successful probation period) and additional training is encouraged. You are also supported by an experienced head office team and area & operational management.
