Our story
Ashmere has been in our family for three generations! With decadesof experience providing professional care to the great communities of Derbyshire for as long as we can remember.
We are full of passion, dedication and commitment. Our doors are open 365 days of the year across all of our care homes.
We take great pride knowing that our care homes and care teams will make such a positive impact on our residents’ lives. We never take our privileged position for granted and are always looking for ways in which we can improve the experience for our residents and also the care provided by our excellent care team.

Managing DirectorWhat made you work for Ashmere?
As the 3rd generation of my family to work at Ashmere I have grown up within different care homes so there was never really a question of what I would do as I got older.
What has your best moment been while working at Ashmere?
I always feel immensely proud when I receive complements about our staff individually or generally about the care being provided. However, I do particularly remember a mother and daughter who lived with us for a long number of years before passing away within a year or so of each other. At both funerals the families gratitude towards the staff was humbling, and to hear what a transformation they had seen in their loved ones whilst they were with us was a real joy.
What would you say is the biggest challenge about your role?
Remembering to look back at everything we have achieved and not just at the tasks yet to be done.
What’s the most unusual fact about yourself that not a lot of people know?
That I live on a farm.
What would we be likely to bump into you doing at the weekend?
On the farm with my kids or out on by motorbike.
What inspires you?
The success of others.
My party trick is:
Falling asleep!
