Heanor Park, Ashmere Derbyshire’s brand new, purpose-built care home has now officially opened its door to the first handful of residents.

The new residents have been settling in well with some Christmas related activities including quizzes and crafts, and have taken a trip to the Heanor Memorial Park, to enjoy some squirrel spotting, which is based right on the edge of the home.

Heanor Park, based in the heart of Heanor, is a 60 bed care home providing residential, dementia, luxury living suites and respite care.

Catherine Bower, Manager, said: “It has been fantastic to see our first few residents moving into Heanor Park and I am really enjoying getting to know them.

“It is amazing to see the home open after all the hard work that was put into making it a completely accessible, happy and family-orientated place to be.”

“I wish our current residents a happy time here at Heanor Park and I look forward to welcoming more in the new year.”
